N7CAL.COM is a website dedicated to the art of ESSB. It is a mode that brings out the best in audio quality and at times, the worst in ham controversy. Here at N7CAL.COM I will endeavour to explain my journey through this realm of the hobby. I will describe all the things that I have done wrong and how I came to the current configuration of my station.

Contesting in my opinion has taken on a shape that is not very conducive to the major tennants of ham radio. The motto of "Always be courteous" is, on contest weekends, nowhere to be found. And the opportunity to have a standard QSO is not very easy either. And if the standard QSO is tough to acheive on a contest weekend then it is even tougher to enjoy ESSB. Not simply dued to the fact that transmitting 3K plus is not practical but that listening to a smooth ESSB signal will be impossible with the contest clutter found every Kc or so.

It really falls on us to be as diplomatic as possible during these times. ESSB has had a hard enough time getting to the point where we can enjoy it without starting some skirmish over the ,,,,,,,,,,,
